Evolution 415/615 – Undergraduate Course: Evolution is a rapidly growing and integrative field. In this course we will go through the history and basic tenants of evolutionary theory, recent evolutionary research and modern methods for studying evolution.
Bioinformatics and Data Science II – Graduate Course: Online data repositories and even individual data sets are growing at unprecedented rates. Therefore most Biologists and anyone working with these data needs bioinformatic and data science skills. The main goal of the second part of this two part course series is to continue building on linux and python skills learned in the first semester. The course focuses on python programming and linux along with introduction to data standards and version control, tools for cleaning dirty data, data visualization and working with clusters. At the end of this course students should feel comfortable approaching most data problems.
